The Zonta Club of Oakville Supporting Women with "Winter Elegance"
On November 18th, 2007 the Zonta Club of Oakville held a grand fundraising event called "Winter Elegance". Their goal is to help women victims of domestic violence in Halton region through an entire rehabilitation program from the first crisis call to temporary shelter and onto longer term accommodation and counselling services. As such, they identified three agencies who could benefit from their "Winter Elegance Fundraiser": The Assaulted Women's Helpline, Halton Women's Place and Home Suite Hope.
Their spectacular fundraiser featured an auction, fire fighters, Kimberly Seldon and much much more and their hard work raised $9,000 for the Assaulted Women's Helpline!
We sincerely thank all of the wonderful women from the Oakville Zonta club. You really have made a difference in the lives of the 50,000 women who call our crisis line each year!
