Breaking the Silence to End Verbal Abuse

This TV ad, entitled "Names", is part of our current public service announcement campaign.

Emotional and psychological abuse is experienced by over 31% of the Assaulted Women's Helpline's callers and can sometimes be the first stage of abuse in an escalating cycle of violence for some women. It is imperative that we raise awareness for the public to know that verbal abuse is still abuse.

The entire project was generously donated by the talented team at Leo Burnett Toronto and their suppliers. The Assaulted Women's Helpline extends our sincere appreciation for the time, talent, resources and passion that went into this important effort.

Please spread the word about this campaign and join us to remind women of how prevalent and destructive verbal abuse really is and inspire them to seek help from the crisis line.
