Assaulted Women's Helpline announces #SAFE to provide women 24-hour access to a crisis
line from their mobile phone.
The Assaulted Women's Helpline (AWHL), at an event in Toronto this evening,
will announce the launch of #SAFE, a service that allows women to use their Bell Mobility mobile phone
to reach the AWHL crisis line any time of day. The dinner and silent auction will be hosted by Global
Television's Neha Bhupal. Yuk Yuk's Kate Davis and The Creole Drummatix will perform.

About #SAFE
In addition to providing a toll-free and TTY, #SAFE offers women another way to contact the
Assaulted Women's Helpline to receive crisis counseling, information, referrals and safety planning
in up to 154 languages- with confidentiality and anonymity.
Bell Mobility, as part of its "Reduce, Reuse, Redial" program, donates mobile phones to over
150 women's shelters in Canada, as well as to women entering second stage programs.
